Scholarship Award Program – New Applications The W. Christopher Lilwall and Eric Paraskevopoulos Memorial Scholarships

The “Scholarship Award Program” sponsored by CATCA provides financial assistance to children of Active Members of the Union who are in pursuit of full-time post-secondary education or undertaking ATC training.
The scholarships which previously were only available for academic post-secondary training will now be available for ATC training.
The ATC scholarship will be made available to any child of an Active member of the association who has received a certificate of successful completion of a course in ATC provided by NAV Canada. The successful candidate will be reimbursed for their ATC tuition, the amount will vary depending on the course selected by the individual.
The academic scholarship will be made available to any child of an Active member of the association who is in pursuit of full-time post-secondary education. The award will be renewable annually to a maximum of four (4) years upon proof of enrollment of full-time post secondary studies. New applications for the 2011-2012 school year are requested.
The program is open to children of Active Members who are in good standing. Eligible students must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary educational program or undertaking ATC training. Applicants will be required to submit a personal resume, along with two papers as follows:
1. 150-200 words outlining what their personal contributions to society have been, and
2. 150-200 words outlining what contributions they intend to make to society in their adult life.
Applications must be accompanied by academic records and letters of recommendation from at least two sources (not family members) who are familiar with their abilities and performance records.
Applications are available from CATCA National Office as well as online.
Applications, transcripts, recommendations, records and other supporting documents must be submitted to the Executive Vice President before August 31, 2011. All applications will have personal identification removed and be forwarded to the Selection Committee who will select the winners. The winners will be notified and their name will be published on the CATCA website.
