Red Deer Airport – Change in Level of Service

November 1, 2019

The results of a recent review at Red Deer airport have led NAV Canada to change the level of service to Control Tower from Flight Service Station.

As a result, Red Deer will function as a Control Tower from 06:00-22:00 local time, with overnight services still to be determined through a further aeronautical study. The target opening date is August 2021.

A seniority bid will be run to allow CATCA members to bid for this new position. The unit grade and ATCP level have yet to be determined but will be announced before the opening of the seniority bid.

This will be CATCA’s 43rd tower. There are 42 towers within NAV Canada and one with SERCO in Goose Bay, Labrador.

On behalf of the Executive Board,

Peter Duffey                                                                Doug Best
President                                                                     Executive Vice President
