NAV Canada Announces 6 Additional Level of Service Reviews

Last Friday CATCA received notice from NAV Canada that it intends to conduct Level of Service (LOS) reviews for six additional towers.  This is in addition to the LOS announced on September 22 involving St. Jean Tower.  CATCA RVP’s were briefed via teleconferences hosted by the Company.  LOS reviews will be conducted for the following Towers;

  • Fort McMurray Tower
  • Prince George Tower
  • Regina Tower
  • Sault Ste. Marie Tower
  • Whitehorse Tower
  • Windsor Tower

CATCA believes these actions will detrimentally affect the safety of the flying public.  We are strongly opposed to any reduction of services at these locations.  CATCA will be working closely with members in all affected units ensuring that their rights are protected under the Collective Agreement.  We will also be providing Transport Canada with the pertinent and necessary safety information to assist the regulator in their risk assessment regarding any potential degradation of service.

For those affected units, CATCA will be hosting a video conference on Friday, November 20th at 1300 ET.  Details of the call will be forwarded to members by your RVP.

On Behalf of the Executive Board;

Doug Best                                                                                Scott Loder
President                                                                                 Executive Vice President
