Medical Certificates
On June 3, 2020 Transport Canada issued an exemption to the renewal of medical certificates expiring between March 17, 2020 and March 31, 2021. This exemption allows for the renewal to be completed by attestation of fitness or via telemedicine consultation.
A renewal by attestation of fitness can be completed provided the current medical certificate does not include any limitations or restrictions and your medical status has not changed since your preceding medical examination. A renewal by telemedicine consultation with a CAME will be required if the current medical certificate includes a limitation or restriction, or if your health status has changed since your preceding medical examination.
If your current medical expires prior to August 1, 2020 a completed and signed attestation of fitness form must be submitted to the Minister by August 1, 2020 or within 90 days prior to the expiry of the valid medical certificate if the medical expires after August 1, 2020.
The attestation of fitness form is attached.
The full details of the exemption can be found here.
