Expressions of Interest for the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)

Dear CATCA Members,

CATCA is seeking expressions of interest from members interested in filling the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) committee chair position. This is a vital role that helps promote and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our membership by advocating for workplace safety initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, and addressing OSH concerns at the national level. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Representing CATCA members on OSH matters at the national level
  • Engaging with NAV CANADA, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to advocate for safety improvements
  • Monitoring and addressing workplace safety concerns affecting air traffic controllers
  • Providing guidance on OSH-related policies and procedures
  • Supporting local and regional OSH initiatives
  • Participating in the CATCA FSAG committee
  • Participating in development and implementation of CATCA Mental Health initiatives

Qualifications & Expectations:

  • A strong interest in occupational health and safety and the welfare of our membership
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Commitment to representing the interests of CATCA members in safety discussions and related programs

This is a volunteer position but will require some AOD and potentially some limited travel. Opportunities for training and development will be provided.
