DSC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES REPORT UPDATE

You will recall that the “DSC Roles and Responsibilities Review report” was released by NAV Canada in August 2021 outlining the direction the company planned to take to redefine duties of the DSC position.  One contentious area of that report in particular focused on the removal of the Duty DSC shifts to utilize the DSC resources on project, development and adaptation work.

Although updated information has been shared with some members of the DSC group, the information was not made widely available to all DSCs or all CATCA members.

In that effort, we are communicating to all members that the Company has verified to the CATCA National Executive that the August 2021 report is now only being viewed as a direction strategy, and they will NOT be proceeding with removing the DSC Duty Shift activities.  It was noted that there will still be efforts made on reducing the amount of workload associated with the Duty DSC Shift, but that aspect of the DSC job description will remain.

On Behalf of the Executive Board;

Nick von Schoenberg

President

Scott Loder
