Bargaining Bulletin #9: Another week of talks concludes in Ottawa

The Union and Company have finished another three days of negotiations.

There was a significant amount of progress made this week and discussions are now focused on a comprehensive package to resolve all outstanding issues and conclude talks on the renewal of the collective agreement. At this point, only the final monetary items remain to be resolved in the context of a complete package.

To continue the momentum of this past week, the parties have agreed to meet in Cornwall at NAV Centre, May 1-5. It is our intention to conclude the bargaining process that week. Of course, we can never guarantee conclusion, but for the next set of dates, the teams are committed to staying until all options have been exhausted.

Once again, we thank the membership for their patience and support as we continue our efforts to get the best collective agreement possible.

On behalf of the Contract Committee,

Peter Duffey                                                    Doug Best
President                                                         Executive Vice President
