Bargaining Bulletin #2

The Contract Committee met in Ottawa this week to continue its review of all Branch proposals, preparing issues to be tabled with NAV Canada when face-to-face meetings begin in December.

The detailed review of Branch proposals was an in-depth process, and there was much debate throughout the weeks the Committee met. Decisions about which proposals will be tabled to NAV Canada is not decided by votes, but through full discussion and debate until a consensus can be reached.

The Contract Committee is now ready to open talks with the Company, which will begin during the next round of meetings, scheduled for the week of December 10 in Vancouver.

Please remember that confidentiality is essential at all stages of bargaining. Until a tentative agreement is reached and presented for your approval, process updates will be via these bargaining summaries. We’re confident you will give your contract representatives your full understanding and support to do the job they were elected to do.

As always, if you have questions or concerns about the process, please communicate with your Regional Vice President, and stay tuned for more updates.

On behalf of the Contract Committee,

Peter Duffey                                        Doug Best
President                                             Executive Vice President
