ATC Scholarship Program 2016

As outlined via B&F on June 14, 2016, because NAV Canada has ceased all training tuition fees, CATCA announced it was no longer offering the ATC scholarship which provided reimbursement for one (1) selected candidate’s ATC tuition. However, those who had paid for their tuition and graduated after the August 31, 2015 deadline would not have had the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.

As a result, we are offering a final ATC scholarship this year. This ATC scholarship will be made available to any dependent child of an active or retired member of the Association who has received a certificate of successful completion of the NAV Canada IFR Basic Course or Basic VFR Airport Control Course AFTER September 1, 2015. The successful candidate will be reimbursed for their ATC tuition; the amount will vary depending on the course selected by the individual.

Applicants will be required to submit a personal resume, along with two papers as follows:

  • 150-200 words outlining what their personal contributions to society have been, and
  • 150-200 words outlining what contributions they intend to make to society in their adult life.

Applications must be accompanied by academic records, a copy of NAV Canada course completion certificate and letters of recommendation from at least two (2) sources (not family members) who are familiar with their abilities and performance records.

The application form is available online. Applications, transcripts, recommendations, records and other supporting documents must be submitted by mail (email will not be accepted) to National Office on or before August 31, 2016.

All applications will have personal identification removed and be forwarded to the Selection Committee who will select the winner. The winner will be notified and their name will be published on the CATCA member’s access site of our website.

Sincerely,
Doug Best
Executive Vice President
