Wear Black on Wednesdays in Support of UCTE-PSAC Members

CATCA is calling on our members to stand in support of our colleagues represented by UCTE-PSAC, who have now been without a collective agreement since December 2023 — nearly 800 days. PSAC-UCTE represents administrative, clerical, regulatory, construction, facilities, and program support staff across NAV CANADA, including employees working in ACCs, logistics and technical centres, headquarters, and regional offices nationwide.

For more than two years, these dedicated aviation professionals have continued to deliver essential services while facing prolonged uncertainty and delay in achieving a fair and reasonable agreement. Their professionalism and commitment to safety and operational continuity have never wavered, despite the absence of the basic workplace certainty that a collective agreement provides.

As air traffic controllers, we understand firsthand the importance of fair working conditions, mutual respect, and the fundamental right to collective bargaining. The strength of our profession, and of the broader aviation community, rests on solidarity and our shared commitment to supporting one another.

To demonstrate our support, members are encouraged to wear black on Wednesdays. This simple but visible gesture sends a clear message to our employer, that we stand with our UCTE-PSAC colleagues, that we recognize their perseverance, and that we support their efforts to achieve a fair collective agreement.

Solidarity matters. When one group of aviation professionals faces prolonged delays in achieving fairness, it affects us all. By standing together, we reinforce the principle that every aviation worker deserves respect, fairness, and a timely resolution to collective bargaining.

Thank you for your continued professionalism, your unity, and your unwavering commitment to one another.

On behalf of the CATCA Executive Board,

Nick von Schoenberg
President
Scott Loder
Executive Vice President
