The CATCA Executive Board met in Ottawa on Oct. 14-17. Full meeting minutes will be available on our website when ready, however, we do want to report on one topic immediately.
The election committee review of the EVP election is complete, and the report [view here] has been reviewed and considered by the Board. The Board has unanimously agreed to accept the recommendation of the Election Committee and, as such, the outcome of the EVP election will stand.
The Board had a lengthy discussion on this topic and all parties had an opportunity to express their concerns and ask questions. This was a difficult discussion and contentious topic, but we have worked through it and have committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure the same mistakes are not repeated and our process is improved for future elections. We have also committed as a group to putting this behind us and moving forward united in our commitment to focus on the issues facing our union and membership.
